About The Trainer
Superior Dog Academy is owned and operated by Barbara McClew of Somerset, New Jersey. Barbara is a certified Dog Trainer receiving her certification from the Animal Behavior College (ABC) and stays current in the latest techniques by attending continuing education seminars and workshops. Barbara has continued her association with ABC College as a mentor for ABC students since 2008.
Barbara has had a lifelong love of animals. For over 30 years she has owned and trained her own dogs. For many of those years she has had a multi-dog household. Besides dogs, she has owned cats, horses, ducks, chickens and rabbits. Over the years she has taught and helped her children (Michelle, Jeanette and Billy) care for hamsters, frogs, toads and newts in addition to the other household animals.
Barbara is currently living in Somerset, New Jersey with her Husband, Bill and Children, Jeanette and Billy, 5 dogs (3 Schipperkes, 1 Mixed Breed and 1 Shepherd Mix), 2 cats and many tanks of tropical fish.
Barbara also volunteers her time to The Homeless Hearts Dog Rescue of Somerset County, and the Schipperke Rescue. She is currently a member of the following organizations:
